Spine Care - The Various Methods

Back pain is one of the most severe problems these days. The reason for this is lack of time. We all should take time out from our busy schedule for proper spine care. Otherwise, the condition would be prolonged and the only option, which would be left with us, would be spinal surgery.

The following are some methods of spinal care:

Spinal care has now reached an advanced stage, in which chiropractic care has gained most people's attention. It is an advanced treatment that helps in spinal problems, disk-related problems, bone geometry, etc. Further, the fact that this therapy does not require any drugs or surgery may amaze you. Chiropractic treatment is actually the art to make adjustments in misaligned joints of the body.

During pregnancy, the body undergoes many changes, to make space for the fetus and this causes weight-related issues. This results in extra stress on the spine. Chiropractic care, during pregnancy, helps the pregnant woman to stay much more comfortable.

Gene therapy also helps to alleviate back pain. The ideal targets for this therapy are disks, as the encapsulated nature of the disk may help to maintain high intra-discal concentrations in genes.

In intra-discal electrothermal annuloplasty or IDET, a thermal catheter is inserted into the disc annulus to heat the complete posterior annulus. The collagen is altered and nociceptive fibers are destroyed. This reduces pain.

In nucleoplasty, a needle is placed into the disc. Radio frequencies and thermal energy are used to abate and coagulate the tissues, which decompresses the disc. This procedure is more effective in newly-discovered pain.

Endoscopic spine surgery is another method of spinal care. It includes percutaneous discectomy, anterior fusions, video-assisted thoracic surgery (also known as VATS), and the laproscopic approach to spinal problems.

Besides the use of these methods, a lot of care should be taken while you do daily routine work. You should maintain a healthy and an average body weight, so that there is no extra stress on the spine. You should manage your time accordingly, so that you get proper time to exercise. No matter how much tired you feel, you should always sit straight and in the right posture. While you lift something heavy or light, you should do that through the use of the correct technique. You should bend your legs and should not twist your back at a steep angle. If you do smoke, you should at once plan to quit smoking, as it hinders blood flow to the lower spine.

A number of therapies are available, when it comes to spine care. Apart from these, various health massages are also available with physiotherapists. Massages help to heal various diseases. They even help to alleviate the depression that you may have had as a result of chronic and continuous back pain.
